Oranienbaum Palace and Gardens

Oranienbaum is a former royal residence, which is located on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, 40 km west of Saint-Petersburg. The main attraction of this place is The Grand Menshikov Palace, which was founded by prince Alexander Menshikov, Russian statesman  who also was a good friend of the Emperor Peter the Great. This palace is an outstanding example of Petrine Baroque architecture as well as the oldest of the Imperial Palaces around the city.
